File System Tools

Introduction

One of the things that drives me crazy about Linux is the distinct lack of tools that allow me to analyze my file system. This can include things such as monitoring the performance of a system that is serving data (like and NFS server) or even doing something as simple as looking for the oldest file in a directory.

To overcome some of this I’ve created some simple scripts, most of them Python scripts, that help me understand what is going on with my file system. This page discusses these tools and allows you to download them.
